Scholarship value/inclusions/duration of Aga Khan Foundation International Scholarship:
The Aga Khan Foundation makes provision for only your living expenses and tuition fees. your travel expenses is not among the bill the foundation takes care of.
Students under PhD scholarship are expected to be working and earning money for themselves because the foundation will only pay for the first 2 years of study the the student pays for the rest. while people on Master’s scholarship are sponsored throughout their study.
50% part of the scholarship is based on loan. being a loan, it must be repaid every year for five years starting from the sixth month after the study duration funded by the Aga Khan Foundation with 5% service charge. agreement of loan in needed as well as a guarantor.
Half of the scholarship amount is considered as a loan, which must be reimbursed with an annual service charge of 5%. A guarantor is required to co-sign the loan agreement. The payback period is five years, starting six months after the study period funded by the Aga Khan Foundation.
Eligibility Criteria for Aga Khan Foundation Scholarship
The Aga Khan Foundation receives all applications from the nationals of the following country: Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Canada, Egypt, France, India, Kenya, Kyrgyz Republic, Madagascar, Mozambique, Pakistan, Portugal, Syria, Tajikistan, Tanzania, Uganda and the USA.
If you are from any of the country listed above, then you are just one step away from getting this wonderful scholarship.
Note that in Canada, France, Portugal and the USA, applications are accepted from those who are indigenes one of the above developing countries, are interested in development-related studies and who have no other means of financing their education.
Only application of qualified nationals listed above who are also living in one of the countries where there are local Aga Khan Foundation, Aga Khan Education Services (AKES), or Aga Khan Education Board (AKEB) offices which process applications and interview candidates is accepted.
Preference is given to students under 30 years of age.
- Internal deadline date and requirements may be different from country to country, so the applicants are strongly advised to reach out to the local offices to get information.
- Completed applications should be returned to the agency from which the form was obtained.
- They should not be sent to Geneva.
- The deadline for submission of applications is 17 March 2023, although in certain countries internal deadlines may be earlier.
