About the American Medical Women’s Association Scholarship:
The AMWA is a professional advocacy and educational organization of women physicians and medical students. Founded in 1915 by Bertha Van Hoosen, the AMWA works to advance women in medicine and to serve as a voice for women’s health.
The association used to publish the Journal of the American Medical Women’s Association; the Journal of Women’s Health is now the official journal of the AMWA.

The AMWA Residency Application Scholarship Fund is meant for medical students who are applying to residency programs and may need additional funds. This scholarship is meant to ease some of the financial burden that accompanies the application process to residency programs.
Child Family Health International CFHI is an official partner of the American Medical Women’s Association (AMWA), the oldest multispecialty organization dedicated to advancing women in medicine and improving women’s health. CFHI’s partnership with AMWA gives female medical students and residents special access to CFHI scholarship funding.
