Establishing a Scholarship:
$300 was the first ASA outright scholarship grant to be presented in 1952. It was gotten from the income interest realized from the ASA permanent fund. The amount of money given as scholarship increases by the day due to the additional fund provided by the permanent fund. Up till today, a total of over $1 million in grants have been given out to many Armenian students’ who really deserves it.
We strongly believe that many individual of high class will keep on remembering the great association ASA in their everyday life to be used as scholarship. On several occasions, when there is a loss of a loved one, families have suggested donations be made to the ASA Scholarship Fund as a Memorial Gift in lieu of flowers.
The three procedures generally adopted by most donors includes:
- A perpetual grant to be awarded annually by contributing a lump sum, of which the interest will accrue annually and be awarded each year to a recipient.
- A modification of the above, accomplished by contributing a smaller lump sum and offering the cash difference on an annual basis to provide a scholarship for a set amount.
- A lump sum donation to be awarded annually until the fund is exhausted or an annual contribution in the amount of the scholarship the donor is to provide.
