Curtin University is offering the RSWA John Glover Research Support Grants (natural sciences, anthropology, and archaeology) in 2023. Applying for this scholarship is available here.

Your application must be submitted by July 14, 2023. This scholarship is offered by Curtin University and has a Partial Funding value of up to $15,000. This scholarship is available to: All citizens.

Description:

Dr. John Glover left a bequest to the Royal Society of Western Australia with the intention of fostering science in the state. The contribution was utilized to start a research support grant program for students studying anthropology, archaeology, and natural and physical sciences in honor of Dr.

Glover’s love of learning. The University of Western Australia has established an endowment to fund the grant program in perpetuity and will manage the grants as part of a partnership between the Royal Society and UWA that aims to maximize the impact of Dr. Glover’s generosity.

Eligibility for the RSWA John Glover Research Support Grants (natural sciences, anthropology and archaeology):

  • Applicants must be full-time students in 2024.
  • Candidates must be actively undertaking their research during the calendar year for which the grant is being sought (i.e. 2024).

The research topic must not be in any of the following fields:

  • Health and Medical research
  • Engineering
  • Agriculture Sciences except where relevant to natural sciences in Western Australia
  • While the research project MUST be on a topic physically linked to Western Australia, funding can be used to support travel to enhance the research project.
  • The research does not need to be relevant to Western Australia only.

Benefits:

$15,000 which will be allocated as follows:

  • $5,000 directly to the recipient as a top-up stipend
  • $10,000 towards research costs and project maintenance.
